Would you like to work on industry-leading real estate development projects in the logistics space? We're looking for a Contracts Manager to join our Ops Real Estate Legal team. In this role, you'll negotiate and draft a variety of commercial agreements supporting Amazon's global operations network, including leases, subleases, licenses and amendments. You'll work closely with business teams to understand their needs and develop creative solutions to complex legal issues. The ideal candidate has strong contract drafting skills, excellent business judgment, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You should be comfortable making decisions with limited information and have a track record of delivering results. This position offers significant growth opportunities and exposure to high-impact projects, helping us to continuously deliver and delight our customers.

Key job responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements supporting Amazon's global operations network, including leases, subleases, and amendments.

• Partner with business teams to understand operational needs and develop creative legal solutions.

• Manage contract review processes with attention to detail while meeting tight deadlines

• Identify and mitigate legal risks in complex commercial transactions.

• Provide practical advice on contract terms and conditions to internal stakeholders based on internal legal practice standards.

• With the help of AI, develop and iterate on standardized contract templates and processes to improve efficiency.

• Support cross-functional projects related to Amazon's ops network.

• Maintain organized contract documentation and tracking systems.

• Collaborate with in-house counsel on high-impact, strategic initiatives.

• Stay current on relevant legal developments affecting Amazon's operations.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of team processes and best practices.

A day in the life

Each day brings diverse challenges to this dynamic role. One morning, you might be reviewing urgent lease agreements for various last-mile delivery sites, while collaborating with the business team on their timeline requirements. Other days, you're working on innovative solutions with AI streamlining complex legal processes empowering our business partners to be faster and nimbler. Some days, you’re working on a brand-new Amazon initiative with the potential to change the way an Amazon business functions. Throughout the day, you make quick decisions with limited information, delivering results that directly impact Amazon's operations network.



Qualifications

• 3+ years of contracts management, paralegal, or other comparable experience within a law firm, government agency, or in-house legal department, with responsibility for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating the legal terms of a broad range of standard commercial contracts.

• Legal department or law firm experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $146,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
